This includes their rather hearty cuisine, particularly a myriad different things you can do with poppy seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Burgenland is a small province east of Vienna, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/burgenland-kultinarium\/\">Burgenland Kultinarium<\/a> festival (2026 dates TBA) encourages you to learn about the area with the help of large quantities of its gastronomic output<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/wiener-zitrustage\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"47133\">Wiener Zitrustage<\/a> or Vienna Citrus Days (May 22nd to 25th) add a little fizz and colour to the month in the rather apt location of the Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/schonbrunn\/orangery-2\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"15245\">orangery<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to run off the accumulated calories, try the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oesterreichischer-frauenlauf.at\/en\">ASICS Austrian Women&#8217;s Run<\/a> on May 31st. Charlize Theron and Amal Clooney both appeared recently, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"go-for-a-swim-or-run\">Go for a swim<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Vienna&#8217;s numerous outdoor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wien.gv.at\/en\/leisure\/public-baths\">public swimming facilities<\/a> open up for the summer in May. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Family facilities, with shallow pools and family-friendly prices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multipurpose facilities, with both indoor and outdoor pools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summer facilities with open-air pools.
