Vienna provides no shortage of entertainment to keep locals and visitors alike in good spirits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a look at the more prominent festivals and other events for visitors in the annual Viennese calendar, browse this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/activities\/events-in-vienna\/\">monthly event overview<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/activities\/events-in-vienna\/\">event listings<\/a> cover various food, music, film, and other festivals. But outside of those, Vienna has three major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/activities\/opera-in-vienna\/\">opera houses<\/a>, numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/classical-concert\/\">classical music venues<\/a>, as well as several English-speaking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/activities\/theatres-cinemas\/\">theatres and cinemas<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, if you do run out of things to do, you can always just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/sport\/football-pub-bar\/\">watch the football<\/a> down the pub or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/sport\/live-stadium-football\/\">in the stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tours\">Experiences &amp; Yeah, I&#8217;m a sucker for tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/christmas-lights\/\">Christmas lights<\/a> go on and we have all the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/christmas-in-vienna\/\">advent activities<\/a>. Not an easy task, as I&#8217;m not used to travelling anywhere you can&#8217;t reach by tram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I have the Alps, Salzburg, Melk, Klosterneuburg Abbey, the Carnuntum Roman reconstructions, and the Schloss Hof country estate covered, as well as a list of organised bus and\/or boat trips to places like Budapest, Hallstatt or Bratislava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, frankly, why would you want to leave a city where you can enjoy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/eatingdrinking\/food\/coffee-glossary\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1863\">coffee<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/eatingdrinking\/food\/the-sachertorte\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2049\">Sachertorte<\/a>, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/classical-concert\/#mozart-strauss-concerts\">a bit of Mozart or Strauss<\/a> in a venue they once performed in?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So you checked in at the hotel, cursed gently for forgetting the travel adapter, and debated the morality of packing up the free shampoo on the first day.
