The event entertains and enlightens as it builds bridges between cultures. press photo courtesy of afrika-tage.at)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those evening concerts at the Afrika Tage add a music festival vibe and feature African or Africa-inspired performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top names regularly appear. Damian &#8220;Jr Gong&#8221; Marley dropped by in 2022. Burning Spear appeared in 2023. The magnificent Marla Glen and the mighty Youssou N&#8217;Dour graced the 2024 event. Marla Glen also returned in 2025: check the <a href=\"https:\/\/afrika-tage.at\/\">official website<\/a> for full details of the event and daily programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2026 dates, tickets &amp; tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dates for 2026 are from August 14th to 24th. Opening hours last time out were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2pm to midnight (Monday to Saturday)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>11am to midnight (Sunday and public holidays)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival always has various ticket options. See the website for details. A full adult day ticket cost \u20ac10 at the previous event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entry is traditionally free on Mondays. Or &#8220;free&#8221;, as I reckon you should really make a donation to charity once inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to the Africa festival<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival takes place on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/donauinsel\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"62574\">Donauinsel<\/a> island: a popular recreational area and event location (see, for example, the huge open-air <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/donauinselfest\/\">Donauinselfest<\/a> music event).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting there is best via the railway and subway stations at either end of the Nordbahnbr\u00fccke bridge, with pedestrian access across to the island.
