Think Mozart or Sigmund Freud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So if you&#8217;re concerned only locals would recognise the figures within, then fear not. The Vienna Madame Tussauds does a nice job of catering to all-comers. Yes, some figures you may not recognise, but most you will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To the details\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You pass through various themed areas to rub shoulders with figures of the past and present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On my last visit, you could take a photograph of yourself right at the start enjoying a t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate with Marie Antoinette of France or Empress Maria Theresa of Austria (actually mother and daughter!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just after, I found Mandela and Marx close enough to swap stories. Options on my visit included, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reclining on a couch while Sigmund Freud presumably took notes about your childhood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accompanying Schubert on the piano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reminding the world that the hills are alive with the sound of music in the company of Julie Andrews with an Alpine background<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Slipping through war-torn Vienna with Harry Lime. (You can still see many of the actual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/songsfilms\/third-man-locations\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"31222\">Third Man film locations<\/a> around Vienna and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/songsfilms\/third-man-tour\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"62196\">visit<\/a> the very sewers used as an iconic location)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Solving equations with Einstein<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And much more, including a handful of interactive experiences such as a VR ski jump or a VR ride in a 1976 Mercedes 200 (W123) through an alpine landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"center\"><em>Ad:<\/em><br><\/div><div data-tiqets-widget=\"discovery\" data-cards-layout=\"horizontal\" data-content-type=\"product\" data-content-ids=\"974071,976418\" data-partner=\"visitingvienna\" data-tq-campaign=\"DA_ZooTech\"><\/div><script defer src=\"https:\/\/widgets.tiqets.com\/loader.js\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The music and entertainment sections, particularly, offer plenty of iconic fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside classical music greats like Haydn, Beethoven, and Strauss (this is Vienna, after all), I shared a tune with Madonna, Freddy Mercury, Taylor Swift and Beyonc\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expect regular new models: last time I checked, for example, Ariane Grande and Demi Lovato had joined the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also shared movie anecdotes with the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sandra Bullock. Nope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will you have a bunch of photos to bring smiles to the faces of friends and family? Yep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tickets-visitor-tips\">Tickets &amp; visitor tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets are available direct or from various online sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"center\"><p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size\">(Booking service provided by Tiqets.com*, who I am an affiliate of)<\/p><div data-tiqets-widget=\"availability\" data-layout=\"full\" data-venue-id=\"145775\" data-partner=\"visitingvienna\" data-tq-campaign=\"AW_Tussauds\"><\/div><script defer src=\"https:\/\/widgets.tiqets.com\/loader.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re visiting Arnold, Wolfgang and their colleagues, then you&#8217;ll also find yourself at the edge of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/prater\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"35726\">Prater<\/a>: a huge entertainment and park complex just to the east of the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madame Tussauds sits on the entrance square, with neighbours that include the famous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/riesenrad\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"271\">Riesenrad<\/a> giant Ferris wheel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/shows-and-musicals\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"84036\">Magic World<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/museums\/pratermuseum\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"70049\">Pratermuseum<\/a> and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wander further into the complex for hi-tech thrills and traditional fairground fun: rollercoasters, dodgems, high-speed rides, arcades, tower carousels, and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those wishing to escape the adrenalin rush, the Prater also has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/prater-park-hiking-trail-9\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"35713\">long walks<\/a> through meadows and light woodland, as well as several decent restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-get-to-madame-tussauds\">How to get to Madame Tussauds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Riesenrad dominates the skyline from afar and that&#8217;s what you head for from the Praterstern station that feeds people through into the main entrance to the Prater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subway\/tram: take the U1 or U2 subway to reach Praterstern or tram lines O or 5.
