Events I&#8217;ve attended in the past for Visiting Vienna articles include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/edelstoff\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"44071\">Edelstoff design market<\/a> (several times a year offering products from dozens of independent designers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/craft-beer-festival\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"14938\">Super Bier Fest<\/a> (beer festival with a focus on craft and microbreweries. A hotel in walking distance really does make sense)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/coffee-festival-2\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"7668\">Vienna Coffee Festival<\/a> (a celebration of the city&#8217;s favourite beverage)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/4gamechangers\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"71100\">4GAMECHANGERS<\/a> (festival with talks and more around a better future. often pulls in top-notch international guests)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/comix\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"58214\">Vienna COMIX<\/a> (large festival of comic fan culture that includes artists and illustrators)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The location has also featured a series of immersive art experiences of late, dedicated to such themes as Monet, Frida Kahlo, Tutankhamen and Pompeii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area surrounding the Marx Halle is a business development zone with the emphasis on media and the biosciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prestigious Vienna Biocenter, for example, houses various life science organisations, and the prize-winning architecture of the giant T-center is home to the Magenta telecommunications giant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, a hotel here also puts you in walking distance of a couple of unexpected visitor attractions, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The former St. Marx cemetery: now a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/st-marx-cemetery\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3212\">lovely park<\/a> and home to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/footsteps\/mozarts-grave\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1117\">Mozart&#8217;s presumed grave<\/a> (nobody can be completely certain)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/donaukanal\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"34106\">Donaukanal arm<\/a> of the Danube that flows through Vienna&#8217;s city centre: the nicer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/donaukanal-walking-cycling-river-trips\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"34304\">riverside walk<\/a> begins not far from here; walk west rather than east for a more picturesque journey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transport options<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Vienna&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/transport\/public\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"310\">public transport system<\/a> gets you anywhere quite quickly, so a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/accommodation\/hotels-vienna-centre\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"42428\">central hotel<\/a> is also an accommodation option. I make some travel suggestions under the hotel entries, but to summarise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The nearby St. Marx station is a stop on the S7 city train route that takes you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/transport\/city-to-airport\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3754\">to<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/transport\/airport-to-city\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3799\">from<\/a> the airport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The nearest subway stations are Schlachthausgasse and Erdberg on the U3 line from the centre of town<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 71 tram line is a solid choice as it takes you into the old town. It also goes out to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/zentralfriedhof\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"301\">Vienna&#8217;s main cemetery<\/a>, which has the graves of some of the world&#8217;s most famous composers (including Beethoven)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 18 tram line connects to Schlachthausgasse station, but also the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 80A bus actually stops outside the Marx Halle and leaves from, for example, Schlachthausgasse station<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The area is also close to the A4 motorway that links Vienna to the east and west. And adjacent to the A23 motorway that joins the A4 to (eventually) the A2 motorway that goes south.
