(Possibly.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But cast your eye over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/exhibitions\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"37363\">exhibition listings<\/a> for major art institutions here, and modern &amp; contemporary art probably counts as the largest category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Equally, for all its imperial history, Vienna is a modern city with almost 2 million inhabitants and significant cultural diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, it should be no surprise to find a thriving street art movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across most of summer 2022, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sightseeing\/vienna-museums\/wien-museum\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"26812\">Wien Museum<\/a>&#8216;s outdoor exhibition makes use of the museum&#8217;s current existence as a construction site to give more space to that movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme is urban cultures: the interface between people in all their variety leads to innovation, understanding and creativity, but also to conflicts of one kind or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Urban Cultures<\/em> addresses the confusion that is public space, where a city must square a circle. Inclusivity without friction. Discourse without confrontation. Smooth waters without exclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating artists are David Leitner, Perk_up, and the Feminist Killjoy Vienna collective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The works only cover a few panels, but they make a walk to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/karlskirche\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"22144\">Karlskirche church<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/musikverein\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5593\">Musikverein<\/a> concert hall a little more intriguing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dates, tickets &amp; tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition runs in two parts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>June 9th to July 31st, 2022 (art by David Leitner and Perk_up)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>August 11th to October 2nd, 2022 (art by Feminist Killjoy)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pop along just before each start and you may find the artists at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an open-air exhibition, entrance is 24\/7 and free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that gives you a taste for more street art, then look out for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/donaukanal\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"34106\">Donaukanal<\/a>: an arm of the Danube that skirts the city centre. The banks along much of the urban parts of its route offer a concrete canvas for street artists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/entertainment\/events\/calle-libre\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"17569\">Calle Libre<\/a>: a festival of &#8220;urban aesthetics&#8221; that curates large street art projects throughout the city. In 2022, the <em>Regeneration<\/em> festival focuses on one site and includes music, street food, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Equally, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/museums\/albertina-modern\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"21859\">Albertina Modern<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitingvienna.com\/sights\/museums\/kuenstlerhaus\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"73350\">K\u00fcnstlerhaus<\/a> across the road from the Wien Museum construction site have top-class modern and contemporary art exhibitions.
